Why did we join FFPL?

Lori Logue

President

As a kid, I always had my nose stuck in a book. My mom used to catch my hiding in my closet with a flashlight and a book instead of sleeping the night away. I’ve wanted to instill the same passion for reading in my own children. Our local library should be a resource for everyone to learn, gain skills, gather, play, and of course, read! With this in mind, I’m passionate about expanding our library and its reach throughout our community. The Friends provide assistance and a path to adventures. This is why I joined the Friends!

joined FFPL because of a sense of community and to be supportive of an additional educational outlet for our town. Plus, I have very fond memories from my childhood. My Mother would take us kids to the library every Saturday. I would be able to read magazines, rent VHS movies and check out books.

Literacy has always been important to me. Education and job preparation begins with reading. Kids got to start with the basics and then stay informed and research things. It’s the key to higher learning and job advancement.

As a retired Art Director/Graphic Designer I feel that I can best contribute my talents to help out FFPL with any advertising or graphic needs. Volunteering for FFPL gives a sense of pride and the rewarding satisfaction of giving back to help out our
community. We are always planning special events and terrific
fundraisers. It’s a beautiful area we live in…become a local…
come join in on the fun!
